The colourful combination of flute, viola and guitar is the basis for this arrangement and the upper line can also be played on the violin which, apart from four notes, can be played in the first position (playing these notes down the octave easily solves the problem). A violist would have to be comfortable in the third position. The melodic interest is shared between the flute (violin) and viola whilst the guitar provides the lilting accompaniment.
